Alma
Van model: Peugeot Boxer L3H2
Year of construction: 2023
What makes it truly exceptional—beyond its name—is that it was conceived almost entirely from reclaimed and recovered materials, thoughtfully sourced and carefully curated through my experience as a designer and artisan. In practical terms, Alma offers generous circulation space, abundant storage, and a highly functional kitchen workspace for those who love to cook. Its most distinctive feature is Pepe, a wood-fired oven dating back to approximately 1950, which brings an irreplaceable sense of history and warmth to the interior, and the hyper-detailed herringbone-pattern wooden countertop, crafted from 184 pieces of reclaimed oak flooring. Alma, meaning “soul” in Spanish, reflects the depth of dedication invested in this project. It also represents a quiet statement: in the pursuit of modernity, many vans have lost the sense of story and material authenticity that give objects true character. This conversion seeks to restore that balance. Aligned with my philosophy, Alma demonstrates that not everything needs to be new to be beautiful. With time, care, and imagination, existing materials can be transformed into something both meaningful and refined—crafted consciously, with respect for the environment we all share.
